We're a Group!

It's been a bit of a journey from the realisation last year that Hampshire didn't have a formal badger group, outside of the New Forest, to making a commitment to myself to do something about it. Along the way, various people have informed, encouraged, supported and challenged me and raised the odd eyebrow. I'm sincerely, genuinely grateful to all of them, from my (much) better half Lauren and my kids right through to Dawn and Zoe at the Badger Trust, numerous good people from the Binfield Badger Group and some other wise contacts in wildlife conservation.

Up to this point, it's felt like a lot to take on. Actually, it still does but the last week has brought with it a wave of positivity. We have 30 or so supporters on our private Facebook page, a brand new bank account, a suite of Group policies supporting our Constitution, a pending announcement from the Badger Trust that we've been accepted as an Associate Member and we've engaged engage meaningfully with Rushmoor Borough Council over a planning application we believe adversely impacts an active badger sett in Aldershot. And we have our first handful of paying members. Thank you to all of you for your support and encouragement. I'm looking forward to getting everyone working together to help take this forward and to meeting everyone in due course.
