Threats to badgers

Badgers have lived in the UK since the last ice age. They're "mesopredators" and find themselves at the top of their food chain because the "Apex" predators above them, such as bears, wolves and lynx, have all been rendered extinct in the UK by man. Consequently, the main threats to badgers arise when they come into conflict with people.

 

Despite legal protection they suffer through their interactions with

humans, whether it be from wildlife crime, animal cruelty, road traffic collisions, land development encroaching on their territories or the Government approved badger cull which includes the Hampshire area.

We're here to help protect these mammals, raise awareness of the

issues that threaten them and campaign on their behalf.
