Orphaned Cubs Progress

You will remember a while ago we mentioned that we were helping with the build of an Artificial Badger Sett with the view to rehoming some orphaned cubs.

Well things have progressed, the sett is built and we have 8 cubs waiting to released into it. As yet they are still too young but we have scheduled the beginning of October to put them into their new home.

Here are a few photos of the build:

As you can see some serious construction is involved.

Before we introduce the cubs we need, for the first 3 weeks, to keep the cubs in a confined area. We will do this with an electric fence.

Now this is a shout out to see if any of our members can help us? Do you have a caravan or go camping and have a couple of Leisure Batteries we can borrow for that time, rather than have to buy them? They cost around £100 each.

We are also looking to see if we can obtain other electric fence parts, so if you have some bits or know where we might borrow some from please let us know.

Once we get the cubs on-site we will start a support feeding regime for a period of 3 months. We are going to create an Amazon Wish List as we are going to need a lot of food for these little monsters. We will publish this in the next week.

Alternatively you can always make a donation that will allow us to buy any fence parts and food if need be.

Thank you for your continued support.
